As Design Chair of the UNC Asian American Students Association, I was in charge of creating event cover photos that were posted on social media. I also designed stickers and hats for the organization.
A series of infographics I made on registering to vote.
As the Design Chair, I was also in charge of designing promotional materials and t-shirts for the school's largest cultural showcase called Journey Into Asia, which featured 10 acts ranging from cultural dance, urban dance, singing, etc. that aims to break the preconceived notions of the AAPI community and bring empower. The theme of this year's event was disORIENT. It derives from Edward Said's concept of Orientalism, which is essentially the West's patronizing perception of the East. The vision for the theme was that we wanted to portray a stereotypical image of Asia that the West holds and then disorient that image in some sort of fashion, thus, half of the dragon breaking up into geometric shapes. In the background, I included different Asian translations of the word "disorient".
For the event, I also made this 30 second animation video using Adobe After Effects that was played at the closing of the show to encapsulate the theme of the show. The video is supposed to portray the literal "disorienting" of the stereotypical Asian symbol of a dragon and then transition into a more modern version of the event logo. This was my first time using After Effects, so it was a bit difficult, but I am very happy with how it turned out and found the experience of creating this video to be really valuable and meaningful to me.

This is the front and back page of my cousin's wedding invitation that I had designed. She wanted her and her fiancee to be drawn in a cute, cartoon style and wanted their hometowns to be included in some way. I drew this on Clip Studio Paint, but I tried to draw the invitation in a way so that it looks hand-made.
